Regeneration Therapy in Kingston WA

Chiropractic Kingston WA Regeneration Therapy

Regenerative Therapy in Kingston WA can be used to treat a number of conditions. Our team at Foundation Chiropractic is here to help.

How does it work?

Every joint and most tissues contain stem cells. The stem cells are responsible for maintaining function at each specific location. Degeneration of tissues and joints occur when the stem cell population depletes and the structure loses the ability to heal. Regenerative therapy is an attempt to heal tissues or joints, restoring the ability to increase one's functions of daily living.

Where do the cells come from?

Can they reject?

Because the human umbilical cord tissue stem cells are less mature than other cells, the immune system is unable to recognize them as foreign. Thus they are not rejected. Hundreds of patients have been treated with HUCT stem cells and never has there been rejection. Proliferation and differentiation is more efficient than “older” cells such as marrow and adipose tissues.

HUCTs are obtained as donations from healthy mothers during full-term Cesarean Section Birth. A healthy baby is born and donors sign a consent form, fill out a detailed questionnaire, and give a sample of blood to give their placenta to science. The blood and cord are then tested for 114 diseases before entering the FDA approved tissue bank.

Mesenchymal cells from the umbilical cord are also known to help reduce inflammation, modulate your immune system and help the nervous system regenerate.

What are the risks of the procedures?

Due to the fact that Stem cells are derived from the human body there are very little risks involved. You will likely be sore up to a couple of days after the procedure but that is not a risk, it’s a side effect. Infection can be a possibility as well. Regenerative therapy is a more conservative approach to treating pain, unlike surgery which may help or make things worse.

How many treatments are needed and how often will I receive them?

Overall experiences has shown that towards the one-year mark after an HUCT/PRP combo treatment, about half of patients have had 75% or better improvement, and half have had 60%-75% improvement and request a second treatment. Once patients are where they want to be, most people will require tune-up treatments every 2 to 6 years.

How will I feel following the treatment?

While the injection is not terribly painful, post-injection you will have localized soreness and discomfort, especially after hand, foot, and shoulder procedures. Most patients take it easy and rest sufficient to help with the soreness. Some may even find over the counter medications to ease the discomfort.

How soon should I notice improvement?

Regenerative therapies are intended to repair and grow connective tissues. After 2 to 8 weeks patients notice improvement and continue to do so over the course of months.

Are the results Permanent?

No, nothing in life is permanent. Knee\joint replacement surgery is not permanent; even the newest prosthetics must be replaced eventually. Regenerative treatments are intended to turn back the hands of time in reverse tissue damage and degenerative changes. However, in due time natural forces will resume degeneration on your body.

What is the guarantee that I will be happy with my results?

There is no guarantee; however, overall satisfaction rate is very high! Those who are satisfied with the results spread the news to others. The severity of the particular condition matters much less than the overall health of the patient undergoing treatment. If your body is unhealthy, it is in the realm of possibility that your stem cells may not function properly. Inferior outcomes have been observed and people who are smokers, heavy drinkers, diabetics, those with uncontrolled hypertension, sleep apnea, lousy diet, and those with a negative, pessimistic outlook on life. Your overall health place an important role in the healing process.

What recommendations do you make to optimize the outcome?

Whole food diet green and sugar-free, quality sleep, limit heavy alcohol consumption and smoking, and regular exercise.

Laser Therapy: Regenerative Laser Therapy utilizes a lower level laser to stimulate regeneration, re-activation and repair of cells and body tissues that have been damaged by illness or injury, to relieve pain and restore normal function. Light energy enters the damaged cells and stimulates inter-cellular activity which reduces pain in the area and speeds recovery of the damaged cells.

Knee Decompression: The classic sign of knee arthritis is a decreased joint space. In more severe cases this is described as the knee being “bone on bone”. This happens when the cartilage gets worn down over time. One treatment option is knee decompression therapy. This specialized chair gently pulls the upper and lower leg apart using long-axis distraction. This creates a slightly larger joint space. The benefit to this is allowing joint fluid, PRP injections into all joint surfaces and compartments of the knee.

PRP: PRP injections are prepared with the patient’s own blood with strict sterilized technique. After being centrifuged, the activated platelets are injected into the damaged area, releasing growth factors that recruit and increase the production of reparative cells. The risk of side effects is limited due to utilizing the patient’s own blood for injections.
